Our Story

The Good Estate Agent was founded by Rob and Sue Bryer, a married couple who built their business from the ground up. Their journey has always been guided by fundamental family values of integrity, compassion, and optimism. Operating from our tranquil rural office in Kent, we are fortunate to be surrounded by the very ethos of our brand—a better way to work, unchained from the traditional high street.

After years of varying success in financial services, Rob and Sue opened their first high-street estate agency in 2007. When the economic volatility of 2008 shifted the market, they adapted as well as they could, focusing on the booming lettings side of the business.

It was after a few false starts that the revelation occurred that they must try something completely new.

By 2010, they saw a new trend emerging: online business was growing while their physical office was becoming an unnecessary expense. With their family's work-life balance always a priority, they made a bold decision. They closed the office and became one of the first hybrid estate agents in the industry. The business model was a success. 

Having levelled the inevitable "bumps in the road," Rob and Sue realised they had created an exceptionally efficient model. Their proven systems, unparalleled software, and years of experience became the foundation for The Good Estate Agent franchise. They assembled a dedicated head office team and created a bespoke system to support agents across the country. The Good Estate Agent has franchisees from Scotland right the way down to the south of England, with many agents operating in the spaces between thanks to our business model.
